With feathers ruffled, she stood quietly in the early morning fog.
She had promised herself that this day would be the beginning of newness in life - no more holding back - she would move forward - out of the fears and insecurities that held her back for too long.
She would soar with freedom and never look back. She would savor life as she had dreamed.
Again, she ruffled her feathers to shake the dew - and then, again to move the stiffness from waiting so long.
With a deep breath, she looked to the sky and without looking back, she lifted off, spreading her wings, she began her flight.
